Mr. Howard Jackson James, age 69, of Tabor City, NC, entered eternal rest on Sunday, December 29, 2024, in the VA Hospital, Fayetteville, NC.

There will be a viewing on Friday, January 3, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the Westside Funeral Home Chapel, 106 S Lewis St, Tabor City, NC 28463

The funeral will be Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 2:00 pm in the Sandy Plain Missionary Baptist Church, 354 Dothan Rd, Tabor City, NC 28463. The burial will follow in the Columbus County Singing Union Cemetery, Jarvis St, Tabor City, NC 28463. 

He is survived by his wife, Margaret James, four sons; Patrick James, Reggie James, Jason James, and Nuke Murphy, three brothers; Wendell James, Lionel James, and Jackson James, Jr., and one sister, Elizabeth Gross.
